Do I need a referral?
Having a referral lowers the out-of-pocket costs to you, however, you don’t need a referral to access our services.

What is a Mental Health Care Plan?
Your GP or Psychiatrist may refer you to Grow Through Therapy via a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). A MHCP allows you to access up to 10 Medicare subsidised sessions per calendar year.

What is an Eating Disorder Plan?
Your GP or Psychiatrist may refer you to Grow Through Therapy via an Eating Disorder Management Plan (EDMP). An EDMP allows you to access up to 40 Medicare rebated psychology sessions over a 12-month period, and 20 rebated sessions over a 12-month period with a dietician.

What age range does Grow Through Therapy work with?
I work with individuals from the ages of 16+. I also see fathers and non-birthing parents for support.

How long are therapy sessions?
Initial sessions are usually 60 minutes. Subsequent sessions are typically 50-60 minutes long.

Do you offer Telehealth appointments?
Yes, we do offer Telehealth appointments. Whilst we prefer face-to-face consultations, clients can access psychological support anywhere in Australia if they have a suitable phone or internet connection.

What are the standard fees for sessions?
The cost of a 50-60 min session at Grow Through Therapy is $230 and is required to be paid at the time of your consultation. After-hours sessions (after 5pm) are $255. If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan or Eating Disorder Plan, you are entitled to receive a Medicare rebate of $96.65 (maximum of 10 sessions in a calendar year).

Do you offer bulk-billed sessions?
Unfortunately, Grow Through Therapy does not provide bulk-billed sessions.

Do you see clients through NDIS, DVA, or worker's compensation?
Grow Through Therapy does see people under the NDIS (self-managed and plan-managed). We don't currently provide support through other claiming streams.

Do you provide couples counselling?
We don’t provide couples counselling sessions at Grow Through Therapy, however, from time-to-time it can be helpful to have your partner attend the session to understand your treatment plan and for understanding around focussed psychological support.

Do you provide pregnancy support counselling?
Yes, we are able to provide pregnancy support counselling under the Medicare item 81000. The Medicare rebate for these sessions is $70.85.

What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to keep an appointment, we require at least 24-hours notice, in order to be able to offer this appointment time to another client.
For appointments that are cancelled with less than 24-hours notice or if you do not attend your scheduled appointment, the full session fee is charged. This cancellation fee is not claimable under Medicare.
We acknowledge that emergencies do happen. Please discuss with us if you are not able to attend an appointment due to an emergency.
